What Natural “supplements” Can I Take To Enhance My Diet?

I have been on a successful “diet” for the past 6 weeks and have lost a little over 10 lbs. No plateau yet, thank goodness. My question is, what natural things can I add to my diet to boost my metabolism or aid in faster weight loss? I don’t necessarily want pills, but something more like what kinds of food would be beneficial. I heard acai berries are good in helping with weight loss and green tea is good in boosting the metabolism. Is this true? and is there anything else?

There really aren’t any natural supplements you can or should take, dear. The only thing I could suggest would be a nice chewable multivitamin/mineral supplement to be sure you meet the minimum daily requirements. A lack of sufficient nutrients can leave you feeling like a worn out rag, and that would slow you down. Currently you are losing weight at a rate that is conducive to keeping it off when you reach your goal. That suggests your metabolism is plugging along just fine, and really doesn’t need any assistance from you. Actually, if you wanted to maintain the best “burn” for your trouble, you do best to eat small meals throughout the day. That keeps the insulin production and blood sugar on a more even keel- without the episodic ups and downs. It’s a steady burn, but an efficient one. Good luck, and congrats for not doing the fad thing- the whole cabbage soup and lemonade business is nutsy. Happy weight loss.

Save your money. Most supplements don’t work. Green tea has caffeine in it, sometimes ginseng, so that will give you energy. Chromium picolinate will help control your appetite. The best way to enhance your diet is to learn to eat properly and control your portions.
